Lapidary Museum in Nicosia; The tiny museum building is a 14th-century Venetian residence. During British rule, stone monuments from different parts of the island were gathered here for display. The museum right behind Selimiye Mosque is usually missed by passers-by; however, those who happen to stop by and enter are the luckiest. The museum is a haven of real stone carvings that have either fallen off their original spots or that have been taken down in the past. The wonderful window in flamboyant gothic style between the inner garden and the museum room dominates the site, and must be seen in Nicosia.
