Othello Castle Famagusta; It was constructed in the 14th century by the Lusignans in order to protect the harbour. In 1492, it was fixed and restored by the Venetian Nicola Foscari. Above the entry, there are engravings of the Lion of St. Mark, the name Nicola Foscari and the date 1492. It is the Cypriot setting for Shakespeare's "Othello".
